Electrical and electronic applications
GENESTAR™ (PA9T) is a polyamide-based engineering plastic that combines high heat resistance, low water absorption, dimensional stability, and excellent electrical performance required for electrical and electronic components.
In high-density mounted parts such as SMT connectors and FPC connectors, it delivers excellent thin-wall moldability and reflow resistance. In addition, its strong electrical properties and flame-retardant performance support the design of highly reliable electronic devices.
POINT01 Blister Resistance
GENESTAR™ (PA9T) features exceptionally low moisture absorption among polyamide resins, helping suppress blistering caused by moisture uptake after molding. Even in high-temperature assembly processes, it helps maintain stable appearance and dimensional accuracy, contributing to a lower risk of molding defects.
POINT02 Tracking Resistance
GENESTAR™ (PA9T) offers excellent tracking resistance, making it well suited for high-voltage components. Its combination of high heat resistance and low moisture absorption also makes it compatible with surface-mount assembly processes, supporting broad use in automotive and industrial applications where higher voltages are increasingly required.
Typical Applications
Jack Connectors
Offering an excellent balance of mechanical strength and sliding performance, it is widely used for jack connectors that are repeatedly inserted and removed.
FPC Connectors
With excellent flowability, stiffness, and low warpage, it is well suited for thin-wall connector designs.
Wire-to-board Connectors
Wire-to-board connectors, which require high mechanical strength, are one of the typical applications for Genestar™ (PA9T).
Camera Modules for Smartphones
It offers an excellent balance of surface appearance, dimensional stability, moldability, and strength, while also helping reduce particle generation.
Memory & PCI Sockets
With a well-balanced combination of moldability, low warpage, and strength, it is suitable for long-length socket designs.
Card connectors
Featuring excellent low-profile moldability, low warpage, sliding performance, and strength, it is widely adopted for card connector applications.
